Why does margarito depend on Floyd for his career so much?

Floyd Mayweather received a bronze medal in the 96 olympics. He went on to win world titles in several divisions beating such great champions as Genaro Hernandez, Diego, Castillo twice, Oscar, & Ricky Hatton to name some. He went out & earned his title as worlds best boxer. Why is it that fighters like Margarito with 5 losses & no great accomplishments in his career dont go out & earn their own fame & recognition? Instead they keep Floyds name coming out of their mouth to try & get some attention. A real fighter will carve out his own greatness without crying for another fighter whos already HOF to fight them.

What a better way to promote himself. Any reasonably good welterweight that has size like Margarito would I think stand a chance against Floyd and be a guy that Mayweather would probably want to shy away from. It makes him sound alot better fighter than he is when you talk about him contest of fighting Floyd.

Look there are about 4 or 5 threads about Marg on the first page. Do you think this would be the case if it wasn't for him calling Floyd out?

Probably same reason Floyd Mayweater depended on Oscar Delahoya for his career it worked for him.

He didn't. But it certainly helped.

The same thing can't be said about Margarito. The only reason he is/was talked about at all was because of PBF. That is hardly the case w/ PBF.
