Williams just started making a real name for himself recently while Cotto has more than a handful of the current who's who (top ranked) welter and Jr. welter names under his belt. If Cotto beat Williams tomorrow he would easily be written off as an overrated freak, a dude with good work-rate that depended on his height advantage but was largely unproved. Cotto wouldn't suddenly become P4P#1 beating Williams, but a win over Floyd might near him. Floyd is the bigger name, fight, and money, thats why Williams is scheduled to fight Quintana instead of Miguel.
