He totally pussied out of the Trinidad fight, i used to worship the dude until he started making lame pop records and letting his wife decide who he fights.

Without a shadow of a doubt he started running from Tito as he thought the fight was won and didn't want to open himself up to a lucky KO from FT.

Tito deserved that win because he had a set of balls like all boxers should.

He didn't choke. It's hard to say he choked when he won the last round. That means he didn't get tired, either. The reason his jab disappeared is due to Mayweather's style. PBF made him fight that way. A desperate fighter doesn't think of using his jab. Oscar knew he was behind and started fighting a different style.

It's the same in football. When one team falls behind, they abandon the running game and take it to the air. When boxers fall too far behind, they start swinging for the fences. That's what happened to Oscar.

BTW, I don't think it was a close fight. That's the least close Majority Decision I've ever seen. Chuck Giampa knew what he was doing.

Those guys were well past their primes and , in general, above their best weights.

Nice NAMES. But not great wins.

As we say in the Army...."People distinguish themselves by going "ABOVE AND BEYOND". That means not being mediocre, or an average Joe. De La Hoya was content with cruising to a "Decision" over Trinidad. I saw Tito trying to go Above and Beyond, and KO Oscar. The knod goes to Trinidad.

A "win is a win" according to you guys. So i dont see how why there has to be double standards.

Come the 10th, 11th and 12th round, and Oscar is content dancing around the ring, letting Trinidad chase him and beating him to the punch in all 3 rounds, in the end giving Trinidad the victory.

                May 5th 2007,

Oscar is winning the earlier rounds, but later on abandons his jab, and in the end gives the fight away in a very very close fight.

Whats with Oscar's tendency to give fights away? Does he have trouble putting his opponents away.

That would have been 2 fights he could have EASILY won that could have catapulted his status into an ATG, and proved to everyone how elite a fighter he could have been.
watch the may 5th fight and tell me if he almost won, what a ****ing joke.

He didnt throw any punches for like 3 rounds straight. Thats called tired, not "another style".

I don't consider him a choker. I had him winning against Trinidad, even with him giving up the last 3 rounds. He beat Mosley the second time pretty clearly but the decision went to Mosley.

                      Past their primes? Check

Above best weights? Check for some

The three are not mutually exclusive. All of those boxers were tough HOF level fighters even when oscar faced them.
