Mayweather is a LW/JWW who is fighting at Welter/Junior Middle for the money.

If there is a big money Welterweight fight, he will take it. For anybody to say that he needs to somehow clean out the WW division, that seems silly.

That is like saying that RJJ needed to clear out the HW's or SRL needed to clear out the MW's (post Hagler).

Floyd doesn't care a lick about the WW division. But, in the absence of any other criticism, his haters will use that to denigrate him.

There's a huge difference between Leonard and Jones and their respective situations. Leonard beat the top dog at Middeweight, so he didn't need to clean out the division. Roy Jones Jr beat the weakest heavyweight beltholder at the time and one of the worst in the history of the sport then declared himself Heavyweight champ. Of all the fighters that could have used a bit of cleaning out, RJJ at heavyweight is the one that springs to mind.

I never said that Floyd had to clean up at Welterweight to secure his legacy. In fact I disagree with that aspect because it just leads onto more lists "Floyd has beaten Cotto, Margarito, Williams, Klitschko, Balboa, Ali, Ken and Ryu from Street Fighter and Mecha Godzilla but he can't be considered an all time great until he has beaten the Lord God Almighty..."
