Can we all agree that Juan Diaz's biggest weakness is........

defense? there isnt much head movement there. he does keep his gloves up but that isnt enough to stop a punch. the only REAL punching threat he's faced has been Julio Diaz who couldnt really get his punches together to set anything up. I think Juan would be in trouble if he faces a power puncher with good boxing ability.

well in his weighclass there is no one who could get a one hit KO.

So it no problem but If he face an person with a one shot KO he would be in deep trouble.

Another thing part of his defense is close range, When you are close the punchs dont move in distance and take up speed that could hurt you. And his quick quick flurries which keeps his oppenet on defensive is also a attack defensive fighting style.

juanito is good at smothering guys' power, i thought lakva sim caught him with a few good shots in their first fight but the baby bull didn't even blink. there's nobody at 135 with the kind of power to get him in trouble

his defence is actually getting much better. I dont usually give a **** about compubox numbers cause i think theyre inaccurate and all, but if you look at his numbers, Julio was landing only like 20% of his punches, maybe less. you can see him block a lot of the punches now.

but when it gets down to it, his real defence is him landing about 50 punches a round on guys, haha. they kind of stop hitting him at that point...and quit

and i disagree with the thread starter. he does move his head well, and keep his hands up when he's "on defense" but most of the fight he's throwing punches.

i'd say his biggest weakness is his lack of power.

When you are that active offensively it's impossible to have a good defense.

I dunno man, I feel like Michael Katsidis is a guy who DOES have that kind of power if he can create the proper distance. That straight right it ****ing dangerous and he throws it hard and fast but unfortunately from what I've seen of him he's inside to much to get a solid shot off, though that short right is still impressive. I could see him giving Juan Diaz trouble but I can also see the converse. Both these guys bring lots of heart and an inside fight. I hope Katsidis learned what a jab was along with a little head movement otherwise Diaz's precision like combinations will easily tear up Katsidis' face again and I don't think he'll be as lucky with the doctors if this is the case.
