If you want to be an entrepreneur, the Rio Grande Valley is where you want to move to. It is in the developing into a young market and still lacks some of the kind of business bigger cities have. If you are looking into selling real-estate or flipping properties, it is one of the fastest growing areas of the US.
Cops are pretty laid back in this area so getting traffic fines within city limits is rare. One thing though, this is one of the heaviest drug trafficking areas in the United States and alot of the **** that goes down doesnt get reported due to the possibility of it affecting its commercial appeal. Im actually typing this from Brownsville, Tx, only about 10 minutes away from Harlingen. Brownsville is the southern most bordertown of Texas neighboring Matamoros, Mex. Matamoros, incidentally, is homebase for one of the world's largest drug trafficking organization, The Gulf Cartel. You just have to be careful who you become friends with down here.
