depends on where you're located, and how far you want to go.
If you have ammy judging/reffing experience, you're already way ahead of the curve. If not, then scope out the next and nearest Golden Gloves competition, talk to the organizors, and find out about getting licensed.
Once experienced on the ammy level (say 50 or so tournament-style fights), contact your State Athletic Commission, tell them you want to be a judge.
From there, it's elementary. Fill out a form, list your creds and pay the annual fee. Most commissions these days are urging their officials to get ABC certified. All you have to do for that is attend an ABC seminar and take the same-day test (they offer for judges and refs, same day just different sessions and tests).
That's basically all there is to it. IF you're unsure how to contact your SAC, go to abcboxing.com, and click the "commisssions contact" link (or something to that effect), Lists every commission in the US, as well as Canada, Puerto Rico, ****** Islands and a few others under the ABC umbrella. -
