It was written by Ricky for his local paper, the manchester evening news. It was to say thankyou and sorry to all the people who had supported him from the start.

I doubt he will ever be the same fighter after what happened on dec 8th, first loss is always difficult to take, but the manner was pretty bad too, Lewis was right, he should consider calling it a day.

He said sorry u tool because an awful lot of people paid a lot of money to travel to another country and he got beat. He wanted to give people a victory but he was unable to

Hatton is a class act!!! In my mind this loss [which i expected] doesn't diminish my desire to see him fight again... He's still pound for pound one of the best fighters on the planet today. Maybe not THE best but one of the best and a fighter who is always exciting to watch win or lose. You have to admire a guy who lays it out on the line doesn't play it safe, loses and make no excuses.
