    2009=New Era In Boxing Begins...

    I thought 2007 would be the last year of the DLH, Hopkins, Jones Jr., Tito ex era. Looks like were going to have one more year of this generation before the young up and comers takeover completley. What will the new era of boxing look like?(who do you think the new stars will be in each division?)

      I agree with all this apart from 160 I think that division is going to be a dead rubber soon. Abraham will probably dominate that Division if Taylor and specifically Pavlik who is massive move up to 168.

        At 168, it'll be Jean Pascal (if my hopes are confirmed)...

        At 160.. Kelly Pavlik (if he stays at the weight)...

        At heavyweight, Wlad will still reign. David Haye is too fragile to succeed at HW. If Mormeck could rock him, I don't even know what a full blown HW would do...

            valero has no chance at reigning at 130, he hits hard, yes, but he's slow and way to wild. Pacquiao will crush this mans dream if they ever fight. Juan manuel marquez would completely school that kid.

              I agree. If I had to predict anybody taking over at those weights, I'd pick Yuriorkis Gamboa.

                  Does anyone here still think Andre Ward will be a pro star? He won a gold medal in the Olympics but has had some shaky moments since turning pro.

                    I'm keeping my eye on Danny Jacobs. Great amatuer star, won his first pro bout earlier this year. He could be something.

                    Mikkel Kessler will rule the super middleweight division after Calzaghe moves up or retires.

                    Dawson is the future of Light Heavyweight, Abraham should be the best middleweight in the world after Pavlik and Taylor move up. The heavyweight picture won't change, Wlad is still number 1.
