    Emmanuel Augustus

I was watching him fight again and he is one of the most skilled fighters i have seen.

He has such a unique style and his record doesn't do him justice he was robbed soo many times its unbelieveable.

I hope he gets a big payday before he retires, he deserves it.

If you gave him 4 months notice for a fight do you think he could compete with top 10 Welters?

no idea but if he was in his prime and fought one of the top welter I'd pay to see him fight. Mayweather says Augustus is one of the toughest fighters he's ever fought so I guess he could trouble them quite a bit with his unique style.

thats funny, two threads about Augustus in just 10 minutes or so. But like I said earlier, he's one of my personal favorite fighters, ALWAYS entertaining in the ring, whether he's drunkin fighting, or giving it his all like he did against Ward and Mayweather.

Underrated fighter indeed, robbed many times, but also made a lot of the mistakes himself by fighting on days notice and whatnot.

I agree with Augustus when he said he has no idea why some top promoters never signed him, he would be a great attraction to have on any under card imo. Imagine if he was featured on the Mayweather/Hatton or May/de la hoya. I bet he would be an instant star, win or lose.

imagine if he got signed by a big promotor and took the sport seriously. He needed to take those short notice fights because he need to make a career and make some money. Shame he got robbed so many times.

i rewatched augustus/mickey ward recently. Man!!! major asskicking going on by both.
theres not enough gain for the pain with emanuel. even tho it looks like he's slipping last times out i feel top guys still avoid him even as a tuneup because he could posible have a good night. maybe not beat them but make them work to hard.

understand he works as sparring partner with many top guys.
hope he gets some good paydays.

there's suppose to be a documentary out on him.
            anyone know anything?

many promotors have tryed to corral augustus.
he dances to his own drumbeat.

not now unfortunetly, Emanuel is very close to being a shot fighter.

BUT, in his prime he would have given anybody from 135-147 pounds a lot of trouble.

He gave Floyd mayweather a hell of a fight a long time ago when he was at his peak.

Emanuel may be one of my favorites of all time. Such an exciting fighter to watch and he really is a very good fighter when he gets going.

The headmovement isnt there anymore though, cause his reflexes are gone. But every now and again he flashes that offensive talent that made him such a must watch fighter from 1999 to like 2003.
