Neither fighter is a knock out artist..

But Calzaghe has a very, very high output of slaps...

I would say Hokins packs a harder punch

Probably, but watching some fights of Calzaghe when he was younger and how he dropped Eubank and other fighters I think Calzaghe has the power but doesn't use it in fear of breaking his brittle hands.

Agreed, nothing short of spot on.

It would of been great to see a young Calzaghe in that fight against Kessler, what a war that would be.

Calzaghe hits harder. Watch some of latest fights. Even the "Slap" stuns folks like Lacy, Kessler, Mangetto. If both threw the perfect punch and landed it flush on the chin of the same opponent, Calzaghe's punch would hurt the worse. Take Robert Allen for example, the 3rd fight with B-Hop, Bernard landed one of the most pretty over hand rights you can throw which knocked Allen down but he rose and didn't appear to be too hurt. I bet 100 dollaras if Calzaghe threw the same punch and landed it with his left hand, I promise you, Allen would not get up.

At this point in their careers, it's tough to say, neither really are known for big punches. I'm leaning more towards Hopkins. When Hopkins was younger he was knockin fools out left and right though. I haven't seen too many Calzaghe fights early in his career so I'm not sure how that compares to a young Calzaghe.
