This isnt even a joke, i seriously think that Gatti let his opponents hit him flush in the face ON PURPOSE.
It fits in with his personality as well. He always wants to be known as the blood and guts warrior, and i think he let opponents hit him at times to make the fight more exciting or to make himself look tougher when he came back with more shots.
Like, im not even kidding, watch some of his fights with this in mind and u might see what im trying to say.

Gatti had an amazing chin, so he could theoretically do this and not be hurt.
