Benn-Malinga was the worst. I don't know anybody who feels Benn won that one. When Paul Thomas raised Nigel's hand, I was ashamed to be British.

Eubank-Sherry, Eubank-Watson, Eubank-Close, Eubank-Amaral - all dodgy as **** but more to do with Puerto Rican judges who for whatever reason loved Chris Eubank

i think brodie is one of the saddest stories in recent times for british fighters. he clearly won his first world title fight, and then the wars with injin chi were classics but he came up short again. really good fighter and a great guy

... I was talking about this with someone on another thread about four weeks ago, but I can't remember who the **** it was now. (Easy E, maybe?)

They asserted that "there's always robberies in the UK - it's known for it." So I said if that was the case, then name one. They said "it's just known for it, is all." So I want to know if this is the case, or just a myth. If it's true, then naming just ONE shouldn't be too hard, right?

Of course there are iffy ones, but it's not Germany. Off the top of my head I can think of:


Victor Polo only getting a draw with Scott Harrison.

Some Argentinian (sorry, can't be arsed to boxrec) losing on points to Graham Earl just before his Katsidis bout.

Clinton Woods getting the win in the third Johnson bout.


That last one is an example of stats over reality, in that Johnson was brought over from the States and put on a Frank Warren bill (Clinton is signed to a rival promoter) for the sole intention of being a Blow opponent after he got the belt. Also, the one judge who gave Johnson the win was from England. So it certainly wasn't an intentional robbery, if indeed it was one. (I had it Johnson 115-113).
