Before the bell I actually thought Ponce was gonna get tore up...But I was also amazed at how slow Escobedo was, and how Nacho would even waist his time on a fighter like that. But Nacho needs to broaden his view as a trainer. I would have liked to see Bojado under him if not back under Floyd Sr. He definanlty brings alot of good out of already talented fighters. Mares is under him now and he even looks better.

I didn't even know Mares was ever with Floyd Sr lol

Floyd Sr is at his best when he has a fighter with a alot of hand speed to work with, I thought he did alright with Bojado, and he did help Oscar's right hand.

But Nacho can turn ****ers into technical counter punchers and just all around intelligent punchers, wich can be usefull against fast hands. I hope Igancio passes his secrets down as years pass, cause he's one of those trainers that has that 'perfect blue-print' for alot of fighters.

....i think nacho may be forcing combinations a little too much on mares...sometimes mares' combinations look sloppy and i think he is sacrificing power and stamina just to get them combinations off....

i think mares would do better to train more movement, because if he fights a guy who can walk through the slaps, he is gonna have lots of trouble...

Ignacio is great as a trainer but sorry as as a manager.
Still I think I would want to be trained by him or Ray Arcel.

Nacho Beristain is the best trainer of all time,

There are others who have had trained more champions but most of their champs came when they were already established, while Nacho forged just every single one.

Some of his most acclaimed champs:

                      Ricardo "El Finito" Lopez
                      Humberto "Chiquita" Gonzalez
                      Rafael Marquez
                      Juan Manuel Marquez
                      Daniel Zaragoza
