    Mayweather-hatton PPV Buyrate Tops 850K

"The numbers are in. The December 8th HBO-PPV clash between Floyd Mayweather and Ricky Hatton generated 850,000 pay-per-view buys and $47 million in PPV revenue. The breakdown was 520,000 from cable and 330,000 from satellite. It was a tremendous year for Floyd, who's bout with Oscar De La Hoya in May generated an all time record 2.4 million buys and $134 million in revenue. All told, 2007 was the highest performing year in HBO Pay-Per-View history with 4.8 million buys and more than $255 million in revenue across eight boxing events. The previous high for HBO PPV in boxing was in 1999 with four million buys and $200 million in revenue. In 2006, HBO PPV registered 3.7 million buys and $177 million in revenue."

    ......I stole that.

That's a huge disappointment, half of what they were expecting.

I as well as a lot of people were expecting over 1 million buys. With 24/7 and all the hype for the fight it's quite disappointing.

Does that include the UK buys or how does that work exactly?

            PPV numbers

The ppv numbers for the floyd-hatton fight are 850,000. I heard they were estimating 1.5 million i guess floyd isn't the draw they anticipated. are these numbers right?

850 000 is still a lot of buys. That is probably the most buys in a non De La Hoya, non heavyweight fight in at least the past 10 years.

I guess it is a disappointment, but that just means too much was anticipated.

Also, good question about the UK buys. I think that is US.
