Of course he does every upcoming prospect needs at least 1 tough fight against solid opponent. Although people might say he already had a hard fight vs Willie Limond.

i thought earl would be a tougher fight for him if he could survive the opening rounds and negate khans speed early. but khan did really well and his finish was impressive. i guess the obvious choice a lot of people will say is john thaxton, he's very experienced and would definitely be a solid test

He needs Juan Diaz to kick his ass.

I ****ing hate Amir Khan. Jumped up ****ing wanker. He'll end up like Naseem Hamed, his trap being too big for his own good.

Thing with us English is we get a bright new hope and we cling to him in the hope they'll be the next Floyd Mayweather. Amir Khan ain't even a new Joel Casamayor, let alone a new Floyd Mayweather.

willie limmond was a good test and graham earl (despite inactivity and coming off a brutal ko loss) was a good step up in class, jon thaxton should be the obvious next opponent and would be good progression for amir, i just still believe he is a front runner who has not made good adjustment to the pro style, with a stint in the states training with some good coaches and gettin top quality sparring this could change, alas with a fortune in the bank and semi-celebrity status i can never invisage him getting stuck in in the trenches with someone like katsidis. amir khan will never be a legitimate world champ.

Dude's got flashy already and he's only had 15 fights. He's a ****ing arse. I hope Jon Thaxton gives him a good hiding, though I can't see it.

Khans personality is completely different from Hameds, and every boxer out there is going to say they can beat their opponent.. if you don't believe that, whats the point in fighting?

I reckon Thaxton is the best move for Khan at this stage but looks like Romanov is pretty much a done deal. I think Warren was so impressed by the Earl bout, that they're pushing to make Khan the youngest British World Champion, which is a title currently held by Hamed and Romanov is much higher in the rankings than Thaxton.

The only problem is Romanov lost on points to Graham Earl last year so how much of a test it will be is questionable.

I went out in liverpool this weekend n bumped into him on sat at the newz bar. I jus had a quick chat wit him jus to see what sort of dude he was. My man thinks he is above everyone else n u talkin to him is like he is doin u a favor. I jus told him he needs to stop fighting barbers n butchers to gain my respect (yes i got a nasty look lol)....I bumped into ricky hatton in a club in manchester last yr n off my head i challenged him to a fight (very wrong move here) n he is such a cool dude we had a laff about it. No wonder we all love ricky n will soon hate Amir...Cant wait to see him get knocked out coz i see another naseem in the making as much as he says he is no naz.
