Seriously Though, Why Not Cotto vs Williams?

Let everyone respond to this and be serious about it with no name calling. My thing is that shouldnt it really be Williams vs Cotto to get to Floyd? There are other good WW's but they all have recent losses. The only 2 who havent are Williams & Cotto.

I also think back to other recent matches. Cotto fans who say that he shouldnt have to fight Williams are just making excuses and I cant believe the media doesnt bring that up. Look at the MW division. Taylor was the man. Both Pavlik & Miranda were in line for the title but they knew that Taylor was only going to fight one of them. Neither guy was scared or would say that they didnt want to fight the other contender to get to Taylor. They fought eachother and Pavlik clearly won which made everyone demand that Taylor fight Pavlik. It got so bad that Taylor had to do it. The same would happened here. If Cotto or Williams beat the other then the public would demand that Floyd fight the winner.

Then you look at Guzman vs Soto. Both of those guys were kicking everyone's ass but they couldnt get none of the huge names to fight them, namely the big 4 of Pac, JMM, EM, and MAB. Even though they were both clearly the 2 best standout contenders, they fought eachother so there could only be 1 and its clear now that Guzman is the man that deserves a shot. Infact I remember clearly making a thread on here right before that fight saying that I hate the fight that they are fighting eachother and maybe both of them should get there shot. What happened? Everyone came on that thread and killed me and said that its a great fight that should happened to have 1 clear guy for Pac to face. Now those same guys would say that Cotto shouldnt fight Williams? Its a joke.

Floyd is the man who has proved himself over & over again. The best matchup by far out there right now is Cotto vs Williams. Most think that matchup is even better then Floyd vs those 2 so why not do it? Its funny how Arum always says stuff like Floyd always fights guys that he knows he can beat but what about Cotto? He's always the bigger man and Williams would be the 1st guy without a doubt that alot of people would say that he would lose to and Arum never talks about him. After the Margarito fight he said Williams had no chance because Margarito really won? That sounds way more scared then anything Floyd has ever said. You guys always say that Cotto will fight anyone but he never talks about Williams. Then you could argue that its not a big enough money fight. However, if you do that then your making Cotto the same buisness man that you say Floyd is. If those 2 fight eachother then it clears up the whole picture. No matter what you say, Floyd has been here forever and he's earned the right for those 2 to fight an elimination to get to him. The fact is that its too big of a risk for Arum & Cotto and thats why it wont happened but you cant keep ripping Floyd without bringing that up. You also cant root for Cotto to fight Oscar when everyone was ripping Floyd for doing it. You guys ripped Floyd for fighting Zab but Cotto does it after Zab loss to both Floyd & Baldy, was supsended for a year, and hadnt won a fight in 2 years. Stop using the double standard

The only reason why not is because Williams would probably win. The reason why I don't like that is because then Mayweather would have an excuse to not fight Cotto since he lost his last fight. Mayweather could then also refuse to fight Williams because he will actually have a legitimate argument that Williams can't draw enough fans.

Other than that, I would love to see the fight happen. These are the type of fights that boxing has been getting and needs to keep on getting.

I would mind watching Williams vs Cotto but right now..the only logical fight is Cotto vs PBF..Now it doesnt look like that will happen anytime soon So Cotto vs Williams should happen since Williams beat Margarito..The only guy that I think could beat Cotto at 147 is PBF, Williams looks good but most people are going by his win over Margarito..besides that fight who else is there?..

The fight will not happen because there is a high chance that Williams will win add to the fact that it would not draw a huge crowd. The benefit to Cotto is minimal in a win and dramatic in a loss.

Three common opponents and three KO's for Cotto and a recent UD over SSM..HE HAS PROVEN HIMSELF AS WELL. not to mention he is the # 1 ranked welter under the champ.

Floyd needs to STOP avoiding the top of the welter weight division.

Why not? Because Williams dosen't deserve it yet. Cotto would probably have to take a pay cut from the mosley fight. He would arguably make more fighting margarito. Cotto has been fighting progresivelly higher opposition for years, culminating in Mosley. Williams fought bums until the margarito fight.

So Williams you fatten himself up a bit and Cotto WILL eventually fight him. Two more fights for Williams against quality opposition should do it.
