THOSE WITH SHORT CONCENTRATION SPANS AND AN AVERSION TO LONG POSTS, PLEASE DISREGARD:

    I posit:

Your glory threads from a month ago, which housed your egotistical statements and absurd boasts, received more negative commentary and much less unbridled awe and fawning than you had planned for.

You felt slightly embarassed, as some of the flames and negative remarks were a little too on the money and close to the truth for your liking.

Apropos of this scolding, you withdrew a little and toned down your braggartry for a while.

But, in lieu of the usual displays of verbal narciccism, and lest anyone should assume you'd learned the error of your ways, a telling interim caveat materialized in the shape of a childish photoshop depicting your 'all-conquering' form towering over a devastated cityscape, the WBC strap hung imposingly across one shoulder, presumably to further suggest and emphasize your imagined skysc****r-levelling, metropolis-razing, General Zod-like mightiness - which indicates, of course, that your narciccistic tendencies hadn't subsided in the least, and were merely in hibernation 'til such a time as you felt confident to make your next move...

...that time being now, and that move being, somewhat predictably, the grande show of false humility.

I say 'false' because of the conditional nature of this 'humility', evidenced by the litany of excuses you make for having been beaten.

'The other guy was much bigger.'

    'I showboated.'

'I lost the fight, he didn't win it.'

It doesn't ring like the balanced self-appraisal of a man who knows he made errors from which he can learn but who also accepts that he was squarely beaten (period).

You seem to be desiring the kudos that comes with being able to take a defeat on the chin, without actually wanting to admit you were beaten.

That you posted this in NSB instead of 'Training & Nutrition' only makes the reek of self-importance around you ever more pungent.

All of which is made still more damning when one comes to realize that the fight in question probably never actually happened.

At the crux of your lack of plausibility lies your apparent identity crisis.
    • On the one hand, you claim to be a 'teacher', which plays up to the vision you have of yourself as the poor kid who came up from the mean streets, but who took the blows of harsh experience and drew profound philosophical lessons from them, managing somehow to turn adversity, the temptations of thug-life and the low expectations and/or sneering dismissals of bourgeois middleclass authority figures on their head to blossom as a wise, stoic, sage-like 'giving back' community-leader figure who now devotes himself to preaching the tenets of 'education' and 'awareness' and leading the ******-kids down 'conscious' roads towards 'positive' goals.

    • Then there's the vision you have of yourself as the mercenary, ungiving, unyielding street-guy who lacks the insight necessary to make any philosophical sense of his harsh experiences, and whose only way of (temporarily) reconciling his scarred soul with the pain of his upbringing is to harness the blind anger left behind by that unforgiving youth and use it as the motivatory factor in a brutal, crushing rise to the top - splintered ribs, fractured eye-sockets and busted noses left in the wake of your ferocious hardknock rage.

The two iden****** don't go together. They are entirely different paths, travelled by men possessed of entirely different types of mental fortitude (neither of which belongs to you), with entirely different outcomes.
In attempting to play both roles, you succeed only in laying your own identity crisis bare.

Put it all together, and you have the reason why people ('people' being anyone who isn't in the business of patronizing or humoring you) will read the title-post of this thread and think...

    "Hmmm, what's that smell?

    It's not dog****...

    It's not... cat****...

    It's not monkey****...

    It's BULL****!!!"

It's quite embarassing for you, because one semi-plausible lie has been exposed as two very obvious barefaced lies.

    You aren't a teacher. You aren't a fighter.
You are merely a young man of working-class to lower-middle-class background, not especially affluent growing up, but not especially impoverished either, like most of us.
You keep yourself in good physical condition, which is to be commended. You have a burgeoning interest in the sport of boxing, which is to be encouraged, since you have much to catch up on, if only as a fight-fan or a low-level participant.
You are also probably a nice kid underneath it all, but apparently quite insecure and in need of a real perspective on life.

You won't enjoy hearing this. Tough *******. Having been a reader of boxingscene forum for 3 years, I've finally felt compelled to post and wonder aloud why the board has become sanctuary to so many outright deadbeats and morons.
A few outright deadbeats and morons can be tolerated. But they practically run the place at present. And you're one of them, Da1Catas.
Between antics like yours and the disgusting, thinly-veiled race feuds involving fools such as Anorak, Dave Brown, Dios, Sonofisis and other random hate-mongerers, the forum is becoming a farce.

With that said, you are comparatively young and the uglier personality traits you display are not yet set in stone - now is your opportunity to take some time to reflect on your behaviour and set a new precedent for yourself.
The one big passion in your life at present is not boxing - it is your own image.
Presumably, if boxing is as big a part of your life as you say it is, you'll still want somewhere to chat about boxing in 4, 5 years time.
You won't be WBC Super-Middleweight champ.
You can retort that you will - but you won't.
You will have either forgotten your passion for boxing and moved onto something else or you'll still be here, talking about boxing as a boxing fan.
If you stop acting like a tool right here and now, you might be lucky enough that people will have forgotten your silly boasts in 4, 5 years time and won't feel compelled to remind you of them when the time comes.

    Your year-zero is now.
Or you can just carry on as you have been, insulting your own and others' intelligence.

    Good luck, man.
    Damn Bob Costas.

Eye closed? In AMs with headguards on? Haven't seen that in a long long long time.
He must've been winning by a large margin for the ref to let the fight continue. He probably knew the other dude was going to win anyway even with his busted up face and let the fight continue so he could secure his victory......or something.
