Why Is Lennox Telling Hatton To Retire?

    If he can't beat Floyd??
What kind of advise is that??
So if you can't beat the best boxer on the planet, you retire??
    Doesn't make sense to me.
I'm sure Hatton can still beat a lot of legitimate boxers out there, including Witter, and possibly Malignaggi.

He's speaking from his experience with Hasim Rahman. He was adamant he wouldn't lose to him a second time, he said he'd retire if he lost to him in the re-match. the feeling being if you can't beat the best, it's time to get out. obviously Hatton's situation is quite different to Lennox's but it's just his opinion, not gospel.

Also he's probably concerned for Hattons health because Hatton eats more punches than the majority of boxers out there and thats going to take its toll sooner or later. No one wants to see Hatton develop some sort of non-reversible, life-affecting brain damage but if he carries on taking much more punishment chances are it could happen.

My money would be on my man paulie malignaggi.

Lennox saw Hatton not just losing...but being EXPOSED.

haha good analysis. Its true, put your elbows up and you can more or less stop hatton, although not everyone is as much a thinker in the ring as floyd to be able to shift and hide elbow shots like that. Not a criticism, nuthuggers, Floyd really did expose hatton.

Lennox wants hatton to retire because Lennox wants to be the best british fighter ever and dont want hatton to achieve anymore.
And to right Lennox should think he could beat Rahman in the return. Rahman wasnt exactly a world beater like PBF.
But most will lose to PBF but dont mean they should retire.

No kidding, Lennox is on almost everyone's top 10 ATG heavy list. If Hatton never fights again, he will be soon forgotten.

I think top 5 is pretty uniform actually.

                    Marciano
                    Louis
                    Lewis
                    Foreman
                    Ali

Isn't that the standard 5 (except for the Tyson brigade's list)?
