If Floyd lost I want to see him lose because someone is better, not to someone he is clearly P4P better then but they were just too damn big for him.

However, things changed in the Hatton fight and all the WW's should have 2nd thoughts about fighting Floyd. The one good thing I thought about the Oscar fight was that moving up to 154 would help Floyd's body adjust to WW quicker. Now if you look at Floyd's body in the Zab & Baldy fights compared to his body against Hatton, its not even close. Floyd will never probally be a real WW let alone a huge one like the others but he's way better off now then he was a year or 2 ago. He's much more filled out. I wish they had showed the weights in the Hatton fight. Floyd has never came in for a WW fight even over the limit. He's never been over 146 which is why I thought people are jerks for demanding him to fight guys like Cotto & Williams who weight like 162 in the ring. However, if he just got to like 150 then it would be a huge difference for Floyd and I think he got there against Hatton. Floyd also looked very strong and had nice pop. Now ofcourse all this is skewed because Hatton is a 140 pounder but you could still see that Floyd is much different then he was against Baldy. In that fight he looked like a flat board. Now I think he can take the punches of the big guys and can even hurt them.

I think it all comes down to how he fights. If he pot shots then he will have hell trying to beat Cotto but if he mixes it up and even goes toe to toe with combos then I think he comfortbaly beats Cotto because I think on the inside he can still block a ton of punches and counter back with crisp hard shots that will find the mark on Cotto's shakey D. Floyd will beat him now with the added weight. Thats honestly the biggest reason why I think Floyd and his team didnt want to fight these guys and Margarito. Look how small he was. Now, he's bigger and feeling better at that weight and thats why I believe he will now fight these guys
Great Post fam, very good post, much respect for it because there was no bias in it.. thing is toe to toe isn't in Floyd's comfort zone, Floyd prefers to Box you more so than brawl you and there will be some rounds where he does that, just like in the Hatton fight where early on he Boxed and found his spots, once he saw he had the stage set he became more aggressive but I think that due more to Hatton's inability to fight a clinch free fight, he couldn't use his biggest weapon and once Floyd saw what was happening he kicked it up, Hatton doesn't have a good defense, NOTHING like Cotto, Hatton is VERY reckless to a point where he doesn't pace himself, a point where he THROWS himself at you in a way that he can't even stop himself thats why he hit the turnbuckle because once Floyd hit and moved he couldn't control his own velocity, reckless things that Cotto wont do, he is a more composed Boxer and I just don't see Mayweather running threw him..

it would go the distance but the size, power, accuracy and mental focus will see Cotto giving Floyd the fight of his life, Floyd is an Ultra Boxer, dude is truly something else but I just don't see him beating someone who has ALL the tolls that his past opponents were missing, like Judah had the speed and power but not the focus, Hatton had the power and pressure but not the composure, De La Hoya had the size and power but not the right game plan, it goes all the way back to Corrales who slept on him, Cotto WONT make any of those mistakes if the Cotto I know and came to see on many instances shows up, he shows no emotion and Floyd can jump on him all he wants but when you hit you open yourself up to be hit against the right guy, Cotto is the right guy..

once again fam good post and you made me tap into my thoughts on who would win, the toe to toe part of your post made me think as well as the weight part I just feel like Cotto has tide on his favor, dude is a monstrous body puncher and probably the most accurate puncher besides Floyd in the Welterweight division, it will boil down to more than accuracy, it will boil down to a combination of many tools which they both possess so I think it can go either way, MY opinion is Cotto but I wont be mad if Floyd won because I respect him 100%, I'm NOT a fan of Floyd nor Cotto I'm a fan of Boxing but I just think Cotto got this, I like Floyd and Cotto so more power to the winner but as for MY opinion? I say Cotto by a VERY close, hard fought decision where it wont be debated, where people wont feel a robbery occurred, even Floyd himself.. 100

You've made some pretty good points regarding Cotto in your posts.

Something tells me, if and whether they ever meet in the ring, that Floyd will have Cotto figured out by then.

No disrespect to Cotto, he did show some versatility against SSM to his credit.

He'll certainly give Floyd a fight for his money, but I'm not so sure Cotto will be victorious.

Though, it's too early to predict anything.
