    Jones Jr. Vs. Toney

I think it's pretty obvious why toney lost this fight. For one, he was severely dehydrated. And, he lost 40lbs in 6weeks! He did alot of damage to his body. Also, after the weigh in he gained like 20 pounds or something. pretty much ****ed himself. thoughts?

He lost 47 pounds in 6 weeks.

But I agree with the above poster, Jones was just better than Toney at the time.

Definitely agree! Toney looked drained for Jones Jr fight. Don't forget Toney was a Quarterback in high school who weighed 250 pounds??? Once he turned pro he campaigned at Middleweight 170 pds! That's a huge drop in weight. Toney didn't take up Boxing until he left high school whereas Jones Jr had been practicising the 'Sweet Science' since childhood. These two should have faced off in 2003 when Jones was WBA Heavy Champ and Toney IBF Cruiser Champ. This would have been one hell of a fight back then and a more even playing field seen as though these two looked very comfortable at their respective weights!

I think if he had not been weight drained the Jones wouldn't have dominted him the way he did, Jones would still have won though in his prime he was a beast.

Jones had much more diversity in his arsenal.
Jones gave better angles which at times, Toney didn't know how to deal with.
Jones was a simply better all around fighter that's all.
