Floyd Mayweather should Retire after Cotto

I think Floyd will fight Cotto at the end of 2008, like November or December but I think he should retire after that fight. He has done everything a fighter could possibly achieve fought 18 championship fights, 4 HOF Fighters, 5 weight champion, 6 time world champion, linear champion in 3 divisions and fought the linear champions of 4 divisions. Fought very good fighters like:

    Oscar De La Hoya
    Ricky Hatton
    Diego Corrales
    Jose Luis Castillo
    Genaro Hernandez
    Zab Judah
    Jesus Chavez

    Fought former world champs in:

    Arturo Gatti
    Angel Manfredy
    Sharmba Mitchell
    Demarcus Corley
    Carlos Baldomir

He is undefeated and I personally think he only has one more fight left in him and should he beat Miguel Cotto he should retire with a record of 40-0.

He is considered a modern great by many and beating Cotto will only make his legacy better. Top 5 ATG of alltime after Cotto in my opinion because he will clean out his division. He is the linear champion at 147 at the moment and Cotto is his #1 contender so by beating him he would clean out the division.

Floyd mayweather should dominate the welterweight division, unify the titles, break Marciano's record, then retire as the greatest of all time.

he should retire right now and not even face Cotto, he has done enough to be a legend and if it ain't WHO he beat it's HOW he beat them, his skills alone make him a legend.. 100

Who has the best skills is based on personal preference and bias. Only accomplishments can be fairly used to rate greatness.

Do you think Marciano has a better legacy in boxing than Mayweather?

Now this is the smartest answer I've seen regarding Mayweather and his "Greatness" in a long time....maybe ever. This is exactly what he NEEDS to do if he wants to be the great that he already thinks he is.He's 30....he has plenty of fights left in him....If he wants to take a year off go ahead but retirement = He's not the greatest like he thinks he is.

Yes...but thats not why I say he should break the record, just something to do on the way out. He is very close.
