Is Cotto falling into the "talking" trap like Hatton did?

I've been watching Miguel Cotto since he starting fighting on HBO. He is a good fighter, there is NO DOUBT in that. However, since he has learned how to speak english, he has not ceased to talk about a fight with Mayweather and he never talks about WHO he wants to fight! He always says, " I don't pick who I fight, I let Bob Arum do that..." My question to you all, is Cotto falling into the "talking trap" like Hatton did to get a fight with Mayweather, only to get beat?

The payday, the legacy, the accolades. They are all there if you can defeat Floyd. Cotto has to do what needs to be done to get the fight and if that is to go against his programming and talk a little trash than so be it.

What you said contradicted itself. You ask if he's getting into the "talking trap" after stating that he never mentions who HE wants to fight. I've never really even heard him mention Mayweather as his desired opponent.

Nonetheless, maybe he is trying to set up the fight. But, I'm not so sure yet that he loses.

If the way I typed it, might have sounded as if it contradicted itself. I'll clear it up. Cotto in the past NEVER talked about who he wants to fight. He statements in the past were, " I just fight who Arum pick for me to fight..." (that is an example).

Now ALL of a sudden, he is talking about Mayweather is making excuses, etc. I just feel like Cotto might be pulling the same thing Hatton did to get a fight with May, and he might NOT like the outcome. I hope what I typed cleared up what I meant....

if he wants a fight with floyd, he has to call him out, and keep on calling him out, then win a big fight, then call him out again on national TV. u gotta talk to attract the crowd which attracts the money and floyd will be there.
