Yeah actually that what why people ( knowledgeable boxing people who were in the business for decades now unlike that ****** poster above you) likened him to Pacquiao because of the style but I think Villaflor is clearly the more polished fighter. That fight is actually voted as one of the finest knockouts in the 70s.

That's the second meeting between Villaflor and Shibata which was in Hawaii. Shibata had earlier beaten Villaflor by controversial and very close UD also in Hawaii.

Shibata was the WBC Featherweight titlist. He won that crown by retiring Vicente Saldivar in the 12th of a slated 15 round fight back in 1970. He moved up after a few successful defenses and faced Villaflor twice for the WBA Jr. Lightweight crown. When he lost by 1st round KO as shown in that video, he faced Ricardo Arredondo and won the WBC version. He had three successful defenses of the WBC crown then lost it to Alfredo Escalera.

Wish someone could post more Villaflor fights...? The most violent fight that Villaflor figured in was the one against Morito Kashiwaba. The duo threw bombs all through the 13 rounds that the fight lasted.

Villaflor first won the WBA crown at the age of 20. He retired at the age of 24 after surrendering the title to defensive specialist Samuel Serrano.
