How good can Cotto / Mayorga be?

How come this fight hasn't been mentioned as a possibility. I think both their styles are taylor made for each other to produce a war!

    i agree.

cotto in the end (with the youth and advantage in boxing ability) would in all likelihood beat mayorga but it would be great to watch no dobut.

it hasn't been mentioned because cotto is a welterweight who fights guys his size (or maybe de la hoya), not guys who just fought above middleweight and have to take diet pills to make 154 (and lose brutally).

Mayorga is a C level brawler.
I would never pay to see this.

it can be VERY good, very exciting and we can see the Cotto in the Torres fight come in except without the knockdowns but hey against Mayorga who knows, he just beat El Ferroz and like it or not a win is a win, Iwill approve this fight more so than I would Oscar because Mayorga won his last fight and people who pay to see him know they going to get their moneys worth.. 100

Mayo only gained weight to catch Vargas...

Mayorga doesn't have a problem with 154.. he was in great shape 6 month ago when he fought DLH.

with Cotto being the smaller man, that what woould make the fight interesting..

Those two will go at it in the center of the ring refusing to give up ground...

And as far as the caliber of this fight.. Cotto needs a big name and an impressive fight to get to Mayweather. And Mayo, being in two back to back PPV fights is a big name in boxing. Plus he knows how to trash talk and promote fights.

Mayo is calling out Mayweather like a little chicken so if Cotto beats him, he is the man to fight next!

If Ricardo Torres can get at cottos chin, Ricardo Mayorga might break it. BUT Cotto wouldnt fight with him. He would box him untill the late rounds and try for a kill. A prime Mayorga wins, today Cotto would prolly take him the distance and win by UD.
