Okay, what fighters scared you the most and which ones would you have stared down yourself? Feel free to add a justification or clarifying remarks. Like most lists, these lists can go on and on, but I'm going to limit mine to five each. Here's a quick list to start things off.
Top Five Most Intimidating (in no particular order)
1. Mike Tyson: - I still recall the anxiety I felt watching Iron Mike as he shook out his legs and beat his goves together in the moments right before the opening bell.
2. Ike Ibeabuchi: - No explanation necessary for those who saw him fight, or, I imagine, for those who knew him personally
3. Andrew Golota: - was there a scarier or more intense pre-fight stare? Also the prospect of instant infertility was never greater than when fighting the "Foul Pole."
4. Razor Ruddock: - not a great fighter perhaps, but the threat of a coma always loomed.
5. George Foreman: - 1st and 2nd comings. Sure he was a sweetheart during his comeback run, but I always imagined the fear that his opponents must have felt as he stoically lumbered towards them.
Note: Okay, they're all heavweights, but they're the first that came to mind.
Top Five Least Intimidating (in no particular order)
1. Joey Gamache: - Seems like a real nice guy though.
2. Chris Byrd: - nothing about Byrd is scary
3. Morade Hakkar: - just happy to be on a list
4. Fres Oquendo: - just a plain goofy dude
5. Bob Fitzsimmons: - I don't generally comment on old-timers who I never saw fight, but I have never seen a pic of this guy that comes close to intimidating. Always made me feel that I could've been a great bareknuckler back in the day.
