    Cotto's mandatory

When does the fight need to be signed? I remember hearing he had to sign of fight Frederick Klose by December a while ago, and its December. Klose recently lost his top spot when he dropped a decision to Yuriy Nuzhnenko. Does this push the date back for when the fight needs to be signed? I want Cotto to take care of this cat so he can keep his belt. Cotto's next opponent as of now is probably either Oscar De La Hoya or Floyd Mayweather, neither one of them are going to fight him for a while probably, so he should just take care of this madatory challenger, get it out the way, and stay sharp.

Yuriy Nuzhnenko is 27-0 with 13 KOs but hes never been in there with anything like Cotto. Cotto would likely handle him easily and then prepare for another super fight.

I say Cotto should fight Nuzhnenko around March/April in Puerto Rico. I dont think Cotto is fighting at MSG this June. Unless they would put the Nuzhnenko fight there which wouldnt make sense. That fight would probably be in PR.

Cotto and De La Hoya looks more likely now than Cotto and Mayweather for '08. Think this would be a great fight and alot easier to make since Mayweather wants nothing to do with Arum, Oscar would take the fight in a heartbeat with a chance to try and go out with a big 'W'

If Cotto was to beat De La Hoya then that makes him number one inline to fight Floyd without doubt (if he isn't already)

All this has been on my mind for a while too. As I posted on another thread, Bob Arum seems to be looking for a fight agaisnt ODLH on May 2008. Oscar has not answered since he is too busy with his upcoming baby with the lovely Millie. Two things are true... Oscar still got two good fights left. His fight agaisnt Floyd showed there is some gas left on his tank. 2nd of all, he publicly had stated that Millie doesn't want him to fight boricuas because she doesn't want boricuas to hate his ass. (big whatever...) I always thought it was bull****. So 2 things may happen...

As stated before, Oscar might fight Hatton on May and try to find a way for a retirement fight agaisnt PAC by the end of the year. In this way, he won't fight boricuas.

IMO, he will be fighting Cotto on May in order to give him an extra push to stardome (like he did with Floyd) and then profit from his status by matching up boxers he promotes agaisnt Cotto. (just like he did with Floyd) After the fight happens, both Oscar and TiTo would most likely come out of loses and THEY SHOULD FIGHT ONE LAST TIME before the end of 2008 and ****ing retire already. The final fight, a rematch for glory. It should be on free TV through ESPN. That first Staurday with no important college football games... The world will be a better place if those two just stay retired after a rematch...

Oops! I forgot to mention that if ODLH declines to fight Cotto, Miguel will be doing his MANDO on MArch and fighting Margarito on June at MSG.

lol yeah Cotto should win but he will get hit the hardest hes ever been hit. Oscar will land the big left hook at will IMO so Oscar will have his chances.

The only thing is, what weight would they fight at? I wouldnt want to see Cotto go to 154 and im not sre if Oscar is willing to go to 147. But yea that is looking more likely right now than a fights vs Mayweather.

I already believe Cotto is number one in line to fight Floyd. If not him, then who? Cotto has been on his grind beating good fighters for years, he has beating all kinds fighters, recently just beat Zab Judah and Shane Mosley, hes the WBA champ, hes undefeated, he deserves the shot. I laugh when people say Paul Williams, the only notable win he has is Margarito, which is good, but his resume is nothing compared to Cotto's. Williams jst got on the scene, Cotto has been on it for a while. People have been talking about Cotto-Mayweather fight before anyone even knew who Williams was.

                    Mando to keep his belt
Margarito is to get a W out of his record. It for Arum's win win sitaution but if Cotto won he get alot more money from Cotto

and for people who think lightly of there oppenet anyone who enter the ring have a chance.

many fight come out into a championship fight virtually unknowen intell to shock the World with a win
