Lol, Larry Merchant likes to piss Floyd off

    I didn't realize this either...

Merchant: "You wanted to go down as one of the best fighters or the best fighter around, the best fighters have always taken on all the challengers out there, like a Cotto or Vernon Forrest."

Sounds like the, "Floyd, where the **** was the entertainment tonight?" (obviously paraphrased) question after the Baldomir fight.

lolz true true Larry can be a prick at times, luckily Floyd is a gentleman and knows how to roll with the verbal punches aswell as the physical ones..

the HBO ppl besides maybe lampley and of course Kellerman-who is I'd say 5 tiers ABOVE Viva Mexico as far as blatant bias goes- HATE floyd. The boxing world hates him basically:

      Manny Steward
      George Foreman
      Bernard Hopkins
      Joe Calzaghe
      Mike Tyson
      Larry Merchant

Ive noticed this alot. Everytime he interviews Floyd after a fight, to me it seems like he's trying to patronize him a little. A shame really because away from all the brash talking before a fight Floyd does come across a genuine nice person. The way he was towards Hatton after the fight and the press conference was superb!

he's employed by HBO, questions like that are big money questions and can cause fights to be arranged (e.g. hatton/floyd). its his job, but ur right, merchant does get a sick pleasure in asking floyd particularly, i think he can sense Floyd's insecurity and picks right on it.
