    To beat Mayweather you need:

    Will need:

Stamina to fight all of 12 rounds at a high pace, just like Mayweather himself.

A long stiff jab like De La Hoya, to use while coming in.

    The courage/tenacity of Ricky Hatton.

The ability to soak shots up like Baldomir.

    Intelligent pressure, ala Roberto Duran.

Constant bobbing and weaving as you close the distance, Joe Frazier style, to negate those sharp counters as best as possible while landing your own firepower.

And of course, at least average speed of both hands and feet to actually land punches in the first place and to bull him against the ropes.

…..Is there anyone out there who has all of these qualities? Because if there isn’t, Mayweather is going to either retire unbeaten or only lose after his speed and reflexes have eroded due to age, and even then it won’t be easy due to his very solid technical foundation.

You just need a prime De La Hoya that's it.
I'm talking about the prime DLH that used to send his opponents across the ring with a left hook.

No need to make Floyd look superhuman, because as clearly proved, he isn't.

You have to remember that a prime ODH would be at 135...that means Floyd would also be at 135...where he was an animal.

To beat Floyd you either need to be better than him or KO him wit a lucky punch.

Good post. 1 more though, you also need good power to smack through mayweather's shell.

True but a young Oscar would knock out Floyd though. The Mayweather-Oscar fight showed me that Oscar had all the right tools to beat him, good jab, good right hand to break his shell defense. He just didn't have the age and stamina at the time. A prime Oscar beats Mayweather.

Oscar's prime was at 147 and maybe this couple of quick fights at 140, he was still growing as a fighter at 135.
