I mean I wouldn't have expected him to stop De La Hoya or back him up. I guess he did what he could in that fight but the descision was very close regardless. I dont know who Floyd could beat that would be similar to Pavlik beating Calzaghe, De La Hoya is alot better than Calzaghe but not in his last several fights and I really belive he could have done alot more against Mayweather.

I'm talking about P4P status here.
I'm sure Pavlik will beat Taylor, and if a fight with Calzaghe happens afterwards.. Then, Pavlik will get schooled. Theres no way I can see Calzaghe getting beat by Pavlik

To the question: NO. Pavlik is not the best fighter in the world, and even those two very unlikely wins wouldn't make him so.

I think he has almost no chance at beating Calzaghe anyway.

He defintely has a chace at beating Calzaghe. The style contrast is a good one for him. Calzaghe stands and trades punches and Pavlik hits harder and Calzaghe isn't that much bigger. Yeah Calzaghe is faster but he's still going to get hit. hit hard and probably often.

Exactly. Defensively Kessler is much better. And Joe is not going to get hit by many straight rights. You need to step inside and hit him with hooks or hit him with counter uppercuts/hooks.

Kessler fought an overly defensive fight against Calzaghe though. You probably have to be agressive the way Pavlik fights to beat him. And not just reckless agression he's got those devastating sort of longe range straight punches.

Nah coming at Calzaghe is suicide; fighters who have given Calzaghe a battle have been craftier defensive guys.

If Pavlik beats them, and he beats Calzaghe should Calzaghe beat Hopkins, then he is #1 pvp depending on what noise Pacman makes.

It's not a matter of going at him, Calzaghe has a very open style.
