You can say that Hatton changed after that but that has nothing to do with him getting tired and you cant deny that he did. After that Floyd started picking him apart. Plus you know most people feel like a rematch is always worst for the loser and they end up losing much easier this time around. At 140 I still think Floyd wears him down and takes over in the 2nd half of the fight.

Most of all I dont think there should be a rematch because I didnt like the way Hatton fought. Ive said since the fight that the ref or Floyd's so called illegal moves wouldnt have mattered at all if Hatton would fight like everyone else fights. The reason why all the other stuff mattered is because Hatton wrestles and you guys know it. To me thats not real boxing. Look at guys like Cotto, Chico, Margarito, & Castillo. All those guys are pressure fighters but give themselves enough room to throw. Fans love watching them because they never hold or clinch. They want to go toe to toe but Hatton wants to go chest to chest. Its ugly to watch. He's right on you and I mean "right on you". Why cant he fight the same exact way but give some space? If he does that then Cortez is a non factor. Hatton wrestles and he shouldnt have to do that if he is as skilled as others say he is. I mean look at the Tsyzu fight. He tries to rag you up and I dont mean with his fist. Thats the same way he fought Floyd. Chico fought Castillo toe to toe and they never clinched once hardly. Hatton does it all the time and in this fight it hurt him because he not only smothered Floyd but he smothered his own shots
I disagree but fare in ya comments!

My only problem with cortez was the fact that he deducted a point from Hatton for a shot that didnt even connect, yet he didnt deduct anything from Floyd for the excessive elbow/forearm to the neck and face of Ricky.

But you could argue that the fight was fairly even going into round 6. When Ricky got the point disqualified, the momentum of the fight changed and he abandoned the gameplan and started fighting desperate. That's what the man says himself.

A rematch may give him the opportunity to execute the gameplan he wanted. But then Floyd would have the last fight to go on and could probabaly do the same number again.
No the most I hgave Hatton was 2 rounds and sometimes I felt he only won 1

Same here, I gave Hatton the 2nd and maybe the 5th. I too felt that the ref took some of the shine off the fight and maybe the fact that he was referee of one of the biggest fights in like ages got to his ego a little. Ive usually looked at Cortez as a good referee, as he likes to say firm but fair. Being british I hope Hatton bounces back from this, but being a Floyd fan always knew he'd bitten off more than he could chew with Floyd.

As a UK Ricky Hatton fan i enjoyed the fight even tho i lost 20 Quid and my boy got whooped! The whole town was near enough watching - NEVER hav i seen a fight so antcipated here! Its created a few new fans i think! Floyd will hav gained a few fans too or at very least their respect! He was Fabulous!
Ricky did us proud, he fought his heart out and was game too the end! He went out on his back and took defeat like a true champion! He even managed to take Floyd out of his comfort zone but unfortunatley Mayweather had another gear and class told credit to PBF he was 1st class and went up in my opinion!
Cortez was weak, he jamp in way way to early and the deduction was a JOKE! However it wouldnt have mattered Floyd was just too good
ANOTHER thing im not gonna moan about the forearms and elbows, its part of the game and was part of how i thought Ricky could win - by being ROUGH!

Also I believe in ya get knocked down you best get up again!
Under Frank Warren this fight wouldn't happen, and if it did hatton would of been at 53 0 0 before he faced Mayweather
