You pretty much hit the nail on the head with that statement. Win or lose, us Brits will have a piss-up anyway.

This comment I'm about half sick of, if you'll pardon my saying so. I'm a die-hard, military-career American, so I don't endorse the boo'ing of our great anthem. However - when the person representing America IN THE FIGHT, ACCORDING TO HIMSELF goes overseas to the UK and flips off fans, disrespects the country, and does almost nothing but bash on the other fighter, are you really surprised that it happened? I mean come on, don't start with this whole "it has nothing to do with Mayweather," when the Anthem of the U.S. represented Mayweather in the bout who had declared through the whol press tour "its country vs. country." He's a douche when he's building up a fight, playing the bad guy, yes, but why is ANYONE surprised that it has repercussions, seriously?

Anyway - There is no difference between "true" British fans and "true" American fans. The difference comes when fans are really bandwagon riders, regardless of country. Countless Americans and Mexicans react the same way when DLH fights and loses.
