Is the hatton crowd to blame for hatton's defeat

I think that the crowd is also responsible for Hatton's defeat. The support from the fans is great for a fighter, but too much can get overwhelming and might put the fighter under pressure to perform. Imagine walking into the ring, and every eye in the arena is poised on you, and everyone is expecting something extraordinary.
Hatton had more fans flown in than a world cup soccer game. Even the Americans turned British that night. This is bound to have a negative effect.
The crowd's chants were almost throwing Hatton onto Mayweather, without Hatton's consent.
I think he might have performed better had he been a little unpopular. He would have been more cautious, and would have been able to think in the ring more clearly..

Now the excuse is too many fans? Every fighter has pressure to perform. Mayweather had no fans, maybe the reason he won.

The only thing responsible for Hatton's defeat was him running in and Mayweather's check hook!

Ofcourse, i dont intend to take anything away from Mayweather..He did what he had to do....
I just think that Hatton might have performed better with lesser crowd, i dont neccessarily mean that he would win, but would have been a little better than we saw him saturday night.

As much as I hate Floyd, and wish our boy Ricky had done good, this is a pathetic excuse. Ricky lost cos Floyd is better. End of.

Hattonites never cease to amaze me ~ Didnt he fight Tszyu in a MUCH LARGER arena. The excuses get worse every day.

Your right. He was a nobody in front of the largest crowd of his career in a fight being televised on TV stations all over the world.

Although i do think the occasion got the better of Hatton a little bit, i think that Mayweather proved beyond any shadow of doubt that he is the better fighter. Hindsight would even tell you that he'd have won the fight behind closed doors in front of one man & his dog, and although Hatton was desperate to put on a great performance for himself and his followers it didn't materialise because Mayweather was much better than him. Hatton didn't do himself any favours with his gung-ho approach either.

I think Mayweathers left hook had a bigger impct then the fans.

They were annoying more so than anything.
