I felt bad for him. You can tell he really wanted to win, and he took it hard. It's too bad he's about to fight Paulie next, I like both guys.

You say peak, I say not. The Floyd vs. Chico is the best I've seen Floyd at, at least physically. Now, I guess you could say right now he is "smarter" because he is cautious and economical with his punches, although some of that might have to do with being 30, extra weight on his lightweight frame (which could cause stamina problems at the rate he used to go, I don't know), brittle hands, fighting bigger fighters, although Hatton wasn't, and different mentality, which he admits, than in years past. I also don't think he is as fast as he used to be...yes, might be age, might be the extra weight, combination of the two...pick.
I guess it is like this, skinny/hyper Jordan vs. Championship winning, thicker, mature Jordan. Except, the 50 titles Jordan wasn't talking about not being risky because of his kids, boredom of the sport, injury problems, etc.Last edited by Benny Leonard; 12-12-2007, 11:01 PM.Comment
