Something needs to be said about giving credit when credit is due, even if the person you’re giving props to could be a jerk.
The only way to quiet detractors who find reasons to discredit each of mayweather's opponents after every one of Mayweather wins. Is to do exactly what Mayweather is probably going to do now. Sit back and let the contenders fight amongst themselves. The winner from that nebula will be annointed a superstar and the concensus best welterweight. EVERYBODY will then be on board with that person because nobody will have something to fault.
Before it was always easy to say that Cotto and Margarito are too limited, Williams is too green, and Mosley is too old. After the first round of fights, we learned that Mosley is indeed too old, but that Cotto is NOT limited. We learned that Margarito is indeed too limited, and Williams got some valuable seasoning.
When Cotto and Williams fight each other, then we'll KNOW if Williams is too green, and if Cotto has the versatility to deal with the physical stature of Williams.
The last man standing will be considered a complete fighter by even the harshest critics with the resume, experience and tools to be EVERYBODY'S one and only pick as the person to give Mayweather his greatest and final battle.
If Mayweather doesn't wait for that to happen, he's just going to continue to fight people who are immediately discredited afterwards.
Again, PBF is doing the right thing to shut the critics up.
Let’s let Cotto fight against Cory Spinks….And that will tell us exactly how he will do against Mayweather....

Now you want williams to get a big fight in 3 years with only fighting 1 guy
Cotto 5 years with only fighting 1 guy (mosely)
