All too often the commentators are discussing things that aren't currently happening in the ring and while talking, they will miss a couple of big punches or even a knock down. It's kind of annoying. Sometimes they'll go for an entire round without even mentioning what is happening in the ring.

I'd much rather have a couple guys calling the actual fight, in real time. It just feels a little more exiting that way, rather than discussing boxing philosophy or whatever else is on their minds.

I noticed this again on Saturday, most of the time they're sitting there talking about irrelevant **** and when Ricky finally went down, there was no excitement in the commentating because they missed the knock out punch, only after Hatton went down did Lampley interrupt and say "big left hand from Mayweather" or something long those lines.

Back in the day commentators made the fight exciting. Anyone else agree?
