That streak of amazing fights is continuing.
Mayweather is probably gone for '08, he'll probably return late '08 or early '09 if Cotto is still undefeated a much bigger name.
Look at these matchups!!!!!
JANUARY
Malignaggi-Ngoudjo - Malignaggi has improved every time ive seen him, i dont expect that to change against Ngoudjo who DOES pose a threat.
PREDICTION: Malignaggi in an entertaining UD
Jones Jr. - Trinidad - Whether or not you like this fight, it will garner some mainstream attention and will more then likely end in a Knockout, if only it were a two-sided one.
PREDICTION: I dont know what to make of this fight, but more then 2 years out is to long. Jones KO early, while Trinidad is still fighting off rust.
Povetkin - Chambers - The first heavyweight fight ive looked forward to in years, and it probably wont be all that exciting. But its an interesting fight, and the winner could make a name for himself in the division... about ****in time.
PREDICTION: Povetkin UD
FEBRUARY
Maskaev - Peter - I think Peter still wins it, but its a lot more interesting after the Mccline fight where Peter was dropped multiple times. Not to mention, its gonna be a very entertaining heavyweight fight for as long as it lasts.
PREDICTION: Peter KO 5
Paul Williams - TBA - No opponent announced yet, but with many good fighters for his selection, most likely Carlos Quintana, he cannot make a bad choice.
Darchinyan - Z Gorres - Darchinyan fights in the lions den in the Phillapines, in a big step up for Gorres but a good scrap none the less.
PREDICTION: Dont know much about Gorres, i think Darchinyan takes it.
Pavlik-Taylor 2 - I'm a big Pavlik fan, but i expect Taylor to pose just as big a threat to Pavlik as he did the first time, and a much greater threat to Pavlik in the first 3 or 4 rounds. I think this is going to be an even better fight this time around.
PREDICTION: I still have to go with Pavlik though, by 10th round KO.
Klitschko-Ibragimov - HEAVYWEIGHT UNIFICATION FINALLY!!!!! PREDICTION: Klitschko takes them home.
Also: Lucian Bute is scheduled the fight

VAZQUEZ-MARQUEZ 3 - The finale of what has been a classic trilogy, and will surely end with its best yet, as has so many other trilogies.
PREDICTION:Im going with Marquez to get off the canvas, maybe more then once, to end the fight in the 8th. I might change my mind before fight night though.
Pacquiao-Marquez 2 - Should be better this time around, and it was great the first time. Im going with Marquez by Decision.
And yes, THESE ALL HAPPEN WITHIN 2.5 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!
It only gets better after that, with COTTO-DLH likely for May 3rd, and ALL the bright stars getting back into the ring again.
