John Duddy-Matt Vanda on Maskaev-Peter Card

After recently winning a tough ten-round decision over Howard Eastman at King's Hall in Belfast, undefeated middleweight John Duddy (23-0, 17KOs) is now taking a step back in class by facing Matt "The Predator" Vanda (37-5, 21KOs) on Feb. 2 in New York's Madison Square Garden. According to the Belfast Telegraph, the bout takes place on the undercard to Oleg Maskaev's defense of the WBC heavyweight title against Samuel Peter. [details]

I'd say a 4th or 5th round KO for Duddy.

Is the Maskaev-Peter fight still at the Garden? I heard it might take place in Africa.

Last I heard, Peter vs. Maskaev is not going to take place at the MSG for sure. Nobody has any idea where it's going to be, King is having a hard time to secure the venue. I don't think anybody wants this fight and Peter's last performance is not helping.

If Duddy is on the card, he can sell out the MSG Theater on his own, without those two being involved. I know Maskaev-Pater had trouble selling tickets at MSG, but Duddy would be a huge boost to them.

Hey Mark, get a clue. Duddy still has a deal agreed verbally to fight Pavlik. From his management teams perspective, he's simply "marking time" until his title shot. Oh, and you seriously aren't comparing getting a fight with Duddy to getting a fight with a legit world champion in Cintron, are you?
