    Round One

Hatton lands the first jab of the night, but Mayweather catches him on the way in the next two exchanges. Referee Joe Cortez is too quick to step in as Hatton tries to get inside. At length Hatton sends Mayweather scuttling off balance with a great jab and gets him in the corner, before the ref steps in - again. Floyd's straight right leads are landing and the Pretty Boy has had the better shots hit home. Mayweather ends the round complaining, but probably edged it.
    SKYSPORTS.COM SCORING: Mayweather 10-9

    Round Two

Hatton kicks off with a huge left hook but is still susceptible to the straight right over the top. Mayweather lands three and sadly every time Hatton gets close, referee Joe Cortez steps in. Two time outs and a warning mean there is no rhythm yet. Ricky's face is reddened but so far so good. He is forcing the fight as expected and is having no trouble catching Floyd with his left - straights and hooks. Cortez the only one not looking good so far.
    SKYSPORTS.COM SCORING: Hatton 10-9

    Round Three

It's turning into the Joe Cortez show! Too many interventions - one when Hatton was throwing a punch - are doing Hatton no favours. He keeps coming though, but a good start is cut short by Mayweather's holding. The first close exchange goes Hatton's way, but on the back foot a left-right-left combination shows Floyd's class. Now for the bad news... Hatton is cut! Above the right eye, courtesy of a punch, but Mayweather paws at it furiously in a clinch.
    SKYSPORTS.COM SCORING: Mayweather 10-9

    Round Four

Hatton's worst round yet. The cut is not getting any better of course, but other than a right down the middle, it's all Mayweather. Hatton is not being helped, still, by some ridiculous refereeing - he is constantly being warned - and as a result the pace suits Floyd perfectly. A four-punch flurry rocks Hatton badly and even when he does get a left in, the right comes back, clean and crisp. Hatton looks weary already. Hopefully it's nervous energy he's using up.
    SKYSPORTS.COM SCORING: Mayweather 10-9

    Round Five

Better from Hatton. At last able to get in close he lands three lefts, and a big hook to the body as he ties Floyd up on the ropes. Cortez is quiet for a full 90 seconds and Hatton makes the most of it. But when they break, Floyd still pops off a right. Hatton spends the round buried in Mayweather's chest, which is where he needs to be. The worry is that we've just seen a round where Mayweather takes his foot off the gas, as only he can.
    SKYSPORTS.COM SCORING: Hatton 10-9

    Round Six

Disastrous start for Hatton as he is deducted a point - the first of his professional career - for hitting on the back of the head. Cortez fails to see Mayweather ducking and almost trying to lever himself through the ropes. Hatton responds by turning his back on Floyd on the resumption and ruffled, he is caught by a beauty of a left. He rides it, but Cortez is being conned by Mayweather's cuteness - and he is ruining Ricky's big night.
    SKYSPORTS.COM SCORING: Mayweather 10-8

I'm crying. Real dissapointed at what could have been.

As for PBF. He was outstanding, no doubt. A brilliant boxing display.

Hatton was beaten by the better man, but i was happy with Hattons effort. He gave it his all and that all anyone should ask of him.

I appreciated PBF's gracious acceptance of victory also.

As for treated unfairly?! hmm... let me see...

Both fighters fought a bit dirty...Hatton certainly did a lot of maulling...and bent the rules as he often did.

Did Cortez do right by taking points from Hatton (for the 2nd fight in a row?).. i dont think he deserved it... but shocked to see Hatton deducted points? Nah -... we all know Hatton is a brawler. The head, the elbows, the clinch and the punching to the back of the head. Pretty much what i expected would happen.

Weebler should shut up, he's being embaressing.

What a fight though eh boys? Lived up to the hype i feel. Definately worth staying up till the early hours for, IMO.

at least hatton tried to win and tried to do something, unlike englands national side, who looked like they just didint give a ****. england is the only reason i have to watch the euro 2008, now i have no reason.

I've taken it pretty well to be honest. Hatton gave it his all and i'm sure he'll be back, he was just in with a superior fighter. I'd even consider myself a fan of mayweather now, I was surprised by the way he fought on the inside and showed alot of grit, something i haven't seen alot of in his previous fights.

Thes excuses are hilarious. Truth be told, Cortez let both of them get away with a lot of stuff that isn't boxing. Hatton did his fair share of holding and hitting and mauling and holding the ropes. And floyd did use that elbow and held when Hatton had got in a good position. But that check hook had nothing to do with the ref. When Floyd was getting Hatton on the inside and making him back off had nothing to do with the ref. Floyd landing at will and backing Hatton up had nothing to do with the ref. If Cortez reffed the fight like boxing is supposed to be, it would have been worse.

That was one of the greatest KOs I have seen. He made him hit his head on the ring post, that was classic!
