Ricky closes the gap quicker, and for all his holding he throws masses of punches. If Paulie beats Hatton, it would be one of the best performances that I will ever see. It's highly improbable. I think it's a given you have to hurt Hatton to beat him

I've long held that Hatton can easily be outboxed by a fighter who knows how to sidestep, use his jab, and hold on when Hatton gets on the inside so he can't do his dirty work (Floyd proved my theory correct in their fight). Hatton was only able to win two rounds against Floyd (IMHO, of course) and one of those rounds Floyd admitted to taking off.

Nope, I have to go with Paulie by UD or MD/SD if the fight is in England. Paulie is fast, has a great jab, knows how to box and sidestep (watch the N'Dou fight and you'll see), and is smart enough to grab on the inside and not allow himself to be roughed up (like he did against Cotto and N'Dou), and a solid chin. He was able to win every round against a tough, come-forward N'Dou who's admittedly slower than Hatton so I think Paulie would easily be able to take 7 against Ricky.

I've been saying that Paulie is the best at 140 for a while and, if this fight happens, I know he'll prove me right.

listen i know Ricky got Ko`d by Mayweather but Paulie is no Mayweather, its Hatton by late Ko for me, Hatton is still the best 140 pounder and once he has finished with Maglinaggi he goes after Rees and Witter, if he stays at juniorwelter i cant see anyone touching him yet...

Anyone who says that Hatton will go after Witter doesn't know boxing (or doesn't watch/read Hatton interviews). Hatton has said, no less than 6 times, that he will not give Witter the satisfaction of fighting him and that he'd rather give up a belt than fight him.

Now, as for Paulie being no Mayweather: DUH! But he's still a champ at 140, Hatton is not (unless you count the IBO light welterweight title and the WBC International light welterweight title because Hatton gave up the IBF belt so he didn't have to fight Lovemore N'Dou).

Tough decision for me but I think Pauliev could pull it out. He's a far better boxer than Hatton but Hatton has determination and is a swarmer. I think it would be a good fight with Paulie winning by close decision. I think Paulie has a good chin and won't let Hatton dominate inside. Cotto is stronger and bigger than Hatton.

the second time around i slow mo'd floyd/hatton. i was disturbed that most of hattons punches were more glancing than solid.the way floyd would stand sideways and use his elbows and forearms made it so that hatton gave up on the body and wasted shots to floyds little head. paulies going to learn a lot from that tape.
but i still see a decision against the featherfister.
