the only post about hatton that ive liked...........

      Yes m8,decent post ..
Anyway yeh I also agree with your Kessler remark,I am a die hard Calzaghe fan and have closely watched the guy since he beaten Eubank and I would have been devastated had he have lost BUT Kessler now has also made a big big fan out of me since his fight with Joe and beyer.

Anyway yeh I also feel the same about Ricky, last night could have gone so different had Ricky been allowed to fight his fight and also lasted the 12 rounds because if you think had he not lost the point and also kept up the pace and had it gone 12 rounds he might have won considering the American judges there have scored for aggression before today and talking about that point deduction....well you dont stop boxing untill the ref steps in so Ricky righly kept on throwing punches and it was Mayweather who put himself throo those ropes not Ricky,Mayweather was ducking very low even below the belt ON PURPOSE because either he knew Cortez was on Ricky's case or as my friend suggested Mayweathers notoriety and money was involved and anyway he knew the ref would get Ricky for carrying on boxing when Mayweather had his head so low, also the puch stopped b4 his head anyway and just brushed off the top rope.

I told my m8s the chance that Ricky has got is to really keep the fight at a fast pace and keep on the inside and really **** to the body hard which Ricky is good at but tbh he didnt do much of that last night he went for the head a lot but yeh that was his chance, because Mayweather doesnt like to get hurt,he only ever does just enough to win and if Ricky really took him to the streets then maybe he could just then take his around the back alley and propa mug him BUT the ref was NOT gonna allow it but this is boxing man it aint no tea party and that was a world title bout and for Joe Cortez to behave like that is a su****ious disgrace.

Anyway after he took the point away then Ricky had to really go to town because now all of a sudden hes a desparate man needing to claw the point back, especially if it goes the 12 rounds and so he went on the attack even more which imo suited Mayweather because he runs around the ring getting away and turning his back and falling back on ropes and soaks up some punches to his guard or shoulders BUT THEN IF YOU FALL SHORT AND HE COUNTERS YOU YOUR ****ED and hes good at that and did it last night with a peach of a hook after which imo the writing was on the wall for Ricky.Sad to see him get knocked out like that when it could have been so different had the Ref let him fight his fight and keep up the momentum but no he had to keep breaking it up,it was really bad refereeing I used to respect the man,not even so much for his ref work but ya know hes a familiar face of some great fights but last night was his worst ever.

I mean ive never been a big Hatton fan and even some of my friends say 'wat you dont think Hatton is a great fighter?ARe u mad?' and I do think hes a good fighter butive just never been a big fan,hes never really 100% convinced me but I do like him,hes a down to earth type of guy and does like to have a tear up which is good, hes a Rocky type of boxer and was just sad to see him get knocked out like that and expecially the way the fight was,I mean he must have felt like hes fighting both Mayweather and Cortez too.
Anyway as I say ive never been a big fan of Hatton,Calzaghe I have tho and cant wait for the Hopkins fight but to the guys saying 'I dont feel bad for him cos hes a millionaire',I thought we was talking about boxing here ?
LoL im skint tbh my banks robbing me so yeh if your talking like that I dont feel sorry for him no....LoL,hes had a better life and able to provide much better than I ever will and you only get one life.

        For sure...

The most important thing is Ricky stepped up to the challenge and gave his all despite the criticisms. That's to be commended.

He could've chosen not to fight Floyd.

Instead, he stepped up to the plate and swung as hard as he could.

I still think he is a very funny and likable fellow who can still go on fighting with the full support of his fans here and in the UK, no doubt.

Not every fighter can win every fight.

I'm sure he finds comfort in the love and support from his family, which money can't buy, regardless of the outcome.

Bottom line: He got Floyd's and a lot of other fans' respect, he's not a coward, and he made million$ doing it.

        Cheers to Ricky!

I was absolutely gutted and still am a bit, and I never considered myself a big Hatton fan. But he fought his arse off, genuinely believed he could win and just ran into a guy that was far to good for him. He got paid 10 million for the priviledge so it's not all bad!

I'm a bigger Hatton fan now then I was before the fight, I can't help it, I'm a sucker for a loveable loser. That said I'd wear black for a month if Calzaghe lost.

Hatton's moronic lifestyle finally caught up to him and it showed in the fight, his stamina was unimpressive and he only landed 63 punches through 10 rounds. I am very disappointed in him.
                Wow no loyalty!

I felt a little bad for Ricky. I wanted Floyd to win and was jumping around when the ko happened. Thinking about it now, that was one of the most embarrassing knock downs I've ever seen in my life.

I'm a little surprised at how Ricky reacted after the fight. It was cool how he joked about it but he lost me when he started talking about the rough house tactics from Floyd. They were both fighting a little dirty. Floyd using his arms or elbows isn't what KTFO Hatton. I thought Ricky would be a little more gracious in defeat.
