When having one gear is unhelpful...

One thing I did notice that Hatton needs to STOP doing is coming forward all the time. Yes, I know it's his style to come forward... but there is one time, when he should refrain from doing so.

WHEN HE IS HURT, HE SHOULD TRY TO RECOVER.

He just kept ****ing rushing forward all through the 9th and 10th, and I just couldn't understand why, because he clearly wasn't steady on his legs, and it was just getting him beat up.

I"m not sure he really had a choice. If he tried to recover and keep distance PBF would've caught him anyway since thats where PBF's best shots were coming from.

I think Ricky's best chance to recover was similar to the Collazo fight with the bulldog forward and get in tight where neither can land good clean shots.

      He had no other choice.

This guy makes his bread and butter off mauling and beating the **** out of his opponents.

He's not a boxer puncher who has the height and reach to jab and keep the fight on the outside.

He can't even mix it up like Duran because he isn't as skilled as Duran.

Thats what happens when the whole world leads you to believe that your opponent can't punch, and you spend your whole training camp with 0 respect for his power, and fail to come up with a plan B.

I'm sure Ricky Hatton has more than one gear, what he needs is a trainer that can come up with a backup plan on the fly. Thats where you benefit from having a former world champion in your corner. People say a lot of **** about Roger Mayweather, but the fact is, he gives great advice, you just have to listen for it in between all the "bitches" and "motha****as" that he puts out there.

And they compared this fight to Leonard-Duran. Floyd ain't Leonard, and Hatton sure as hell ain't Duran.
