  • Congratulations to Floyd and his Fans.

I was impressed by Floyd. The better man won. I'm ****ing knackered now.

I wish that Hatton had fought with better tactics and I wish that Cortez hadnt been on his case all fight, but its all redundant now. Floyd outclassed him skill for skill. I hoped that Hatton would win, but it wasnt to be.

I'll always support Hatton, one loss or ten losses wont change that.

Floyd now goes into my top 1 fighter of the last decade slot. I just wish that he'd always be as magnanimous as he was at the end of the fight. If fighting Ricky Hatton should tell you nothing, its that you can make the money, sell the PPVs AND be a popular person too, it doesnt all have to be this ****** act. In fact, the fans can inspire you to more greatness than he currently has.

It hurts to suffer a defeat like this. I hope that I dont ever have to feel it with Calzaghe too and the Floyd fans are lucky that they havent had to feel it with their boy.

    Mik,

Much respect to you for your graciousness.

The reason I was able to "get this one right" is because I saw something that Team Hatton did not.

For Castillo-Mayweather 1, Floyd was 136 on fight night. Castillo was 147.
For Delahoya-mayweather, Floyd was 148 on fight night. Oscar was 166.

Ricky said that when he saw Floyd at the Gatti weigh-in, he didn't think Floyd was big enough or strong enough to fight him.

Ricky said that if Floyd fights him inside, "he will get eaten".

For SOME reason, they severely underestimated Floyd's strength and punching power. Like he was still that SFW guy who fought Castillo. Ricky consistently acted like he was some type of invincible force. His trainers and team reinforced that with their 1100 pound leg presses and insane (and insanely ineffective) bagwork.

I told the Hatton fans that Floyd is not a pushover. Anybody who has been in the ring with him says that he is a good puncher and a strong kid. He fights in that "keep moving" style because he WANTS to...not because he HAS to.

But Team Hatton kept acting like Mayweather is some little sissy. They were doomed from the start.

Props to Mayweather.......but honestly, look at those fans of Hatton's....there with you till the bitter end after you get knocked out. Will Floyd ever have that amount of recognition and love from the fans (I'm not talking about the fairy black kids who love him because hes black and like to jump on bandwagons)?

Well if this fight wasn't hype so much then people wouldn't see this as a 50-50 match up. Mayweather won like most people knew he would, on top of that he wasn't even fighting a welterweight. Ricky Hatton struggled against Collazo, who is two steps below Mayweather. I actually blame Mayweather for accepting this fight and not fighting a true tough natural welterweight.

I'm a Hatton fan first, and then Calzaghe. But after that I'm a Mayweather fan and I think he's a good guy. Its a shame he's misunderstood but i think he's becoming more humble.

            Dios,

I agree, Mayweather was much stronger than they anticipated.

Congratulations to Floyd Mayweather, the better man won the fight, yes the ref played a small part and yes Hatton had the wrong game plan but lets be honest Mayweather is simply just a better fighter.

Kudos to both fighters who brought their A games and put their all into the bout. Great night of boxing, except for the lame ass undercards.

I said that, too. And I was eviscerated for it.

In MY eyes, Floyd just wasted a year of his prime. He is a TRULY great fighter. But this fight was all about the bucks, and will not add to his legacy.
