I think the situation got to him. I don't remember a single sustained body attack from him which is what he should have been doing from the opening bell.
How do you do a body attack in a massive ring with your opponent snaking away as soon as you get close?
Hatton came to fight and impose his will. In the first few rounds he had Floyd feeling very uncomfortable even though Floyd won those early rounds. The thing is, like I said, the gap between the P4P Best and everyone else is VAST and that will be displayed.

yeah that surprised me, but i think the plan was not to immediately go to the body because Floyd and everyone was expecting that, he just lost focus of the gameplan and Floyd didnt

The body was there all ****ing night, Floyd doing that typical leaning away. Hatton was just hunting for the head, you telling me you can't see that ****?!
I think Hatton did pretty good considering the circumstance of Joe Cortez not even keeping Floyd's Elbow in check and not having experience dealing with the best elbow in boxing lol.
I expected ricky to be completely outclassed but frankly Floyd won this one with a little help of some incredibly blind eyes to illegal stuff.
I'm not saying that if Cortez wasn't a ****ing ****** Ricky woulda won... so PBF Nut huggers calm down.... relax... all im saying is it woulda been much more competitive.
As the thread title says, he came to the fight with nothing.
He walked into every single punch.
Was completely unprepared for someone of Floyd's caliber.
Thought he would get close and dominate, but Floyd had his number.
Hats off to Floyd. One hell of a fight, near perfect. He beat Hatton on the outside and inside. Talks a big game and certainly backs it up.
Honestly, that's ******ed.
I can understand you're bitter about him losing to the better fighter who was clearly on a different level the entire time................but you don't have to discredit the performance Hatton put up. He was active, and tried the exact gameplan that everyone KNEW WOULD BE HIS ONLY SHOT: to pressure Mayweather and smother his punching range. He did that effectively and was able to win some rounds making the fight close until he got caught.
So when was it that Ricky Hatton was a defensive specialist who didn't walk forward into punches? lol he's known for his tenacity and his willingness to WALK THROUGH PUNCHES to get to someone. If you're "dissapointed" you should at least know a bit about your boy before you become thus.
Hatton not at his weight division, just to small, have to go inside all the time, the winner just waited the right time. Not taking prestige from the winner, but i think if Hatton isnt right now in the right weight division...he is a lovely boxer to watch. A guy with lots of heart. Hope there are more, to give good entertainment
