Antonio Tarver : Future Hall of Famer!?!?

In recent months, Showtime has been stating on air that Antonio Tarver is a "future hall of famer" on air during his fights. This has occured on at least 4 seperate occasions that I could count (during both the Muriqi fight and Santiago fight).

Is this the biggest crock of bull**** ever to be spouted by a boxing commentator or what? I'm not sure if it's just my hatred of Tarver or not, so I want a poll of public opinion.

Can a fighter who is 39, and has only had a total of 30 fights really be considered a hall of famer? Especially when you factor in 4 of those 30 fights are losses and the level of competition involved in his record?

Does KO'ing an aging, past his prime ATG instantly make you a great as well, or what?

Personally, I think Tarver is **** and always has been.

He is better than good, not great. He's like a worse Ken Norton in the same way, because all he has is Roy Jones JR.

I also think the loss to Johnson at the tail end of his career taints everything he's done, what little he did in the first place anyway. Johnson was a journeyman middleweight, who moved up to Light Heavyweight because he could no longer thrive in the Middleweight division.

The loss to Hopkins is nothing to be ashamed of, because Hopkins is a pure boxing freak. But he was still the heavy favorite to beat a much smaller man moving up in weight. A 41 year old smaller man.

Tarver sucks ****, pure and simple IMO.

LoL @ the Ken Norton thing.
Not very many fights and not a great record by any means, well other then ko%.

No chance unless he pulls something big off very soon.

              .

It was a SD loss, then Tarver came back to win a UD in the rematch.

Norton was way better than Tarver. Not that it makes Norton great, but he has a lot of pretty good heavyweights in his win column. Tarver is a self deluded buffoon.

Frank Bruno vs Ken Norton, a ko waiting to happen.
Yeah I agree Norton was very good but was born in the wrong era.
Tarver is also very good but doesn't live up to his skill.
