    Appreciation of "Undefeated"

I think a lot of people are missing a major bonus in this fight.

    Unlike many fighters nowadays,
    BOTH Floyd and Ricky

    - they devoted their lives to boxing,
    - they started as kids,
    - they have been fighting 12 rounders for ages now, although they are only 30~.
    - they train like madmen.
    - they had long successful amateur careers.

With all the silly hating talk about Mayweather's running shoes, and Hatton's one-dimensionality, a lot of ppl have been missing how old school this fight is. Both fighters barely shed pounds to make weight, both fighters have a tremendous experience by today's standards.

On top of that the style matchup is great.

I hope the fight does not disappoint me.

I will not be blaming either fighter for "running" or "hugging". I would like them not to, but it's them in the ring and they will do what they need to do to win.

I hope Floyd does not injure his hands, and Ricky does not cut.

Finally, I dont think heart will be a problem for any of the fighters involved. You dont train for 20 years the way these two trained, and let things go when you have a few minutes of pain left.

My pick is Mayweather by close decision, in a fight which will be more violent than most expect.

But I would not be surprised by anything tonight. (Draw, Hatton by decision, Mayweather by KO, Hatton by KO... ). I feel pretty sure that this fight makes it to the second half, and most likely to the championship rounds)

    This is a modern masterpiece.

I agree 100%. This isn't like anything we have ever seen before.

Both of these guys have dedicated their lives to the sport.

This isn't like Cintron (who started fighting at 19) or Margarito (who started fighting at 16). These fighters both hones their skills at a young age in the gym. Both have a mixture of talent and athleticism. Which is a lethal combo.
