Give the lad some credit. Diaz has been fighting since 2000 and Khan has been fighting since 2005. To even think a fight between them at this stage would be close deserves credit itself. For Diaz's 15th fight he fought against Nelson Ramon Medina who had 12 wins and 21 losses. Go figure.

Amir will develop at his own pace. He's clearly got mad skills and power/speed. By 2009, he should be a world title contender, that means about 5 fights at his rate of action.

In sure statement to the boxing public, lightweight prospect Amir Khan (15-0, 12KOs) proved that he's a solid contender and future star by blowing out Graham Earl (25-3, 12KOs) in only 72-seconds to retain his Commonwealth title at the Bolton Arena in Bolton. [details]

        Spectacular display !

Khan does keep raising the bar. He is only 21 and will improve heaps more

Maybe he is maturing faster than Warren expected?

Khan is fast and exciting, no he isn't ready for Diaz yet but he wouldn't disgrace himself if they met tommorrow. He will beat Katsidis now.

Well I don't think anyone predicted a 72 second TKO.

****ing impressive performance. He was just faster, bigger, stronger and better than a very good European level fighter. Whatever way you look at it its impressive.

You'd have to be a special kind of ****** to chuck him in with World Class opposition just yet. Maybe go for the European this year but the important thing is to keep ramping up the level of competition. 2009 is when you look for the belts.
