While the decision in Miranda/Abraham was questionable, that wasn't the bad part and the overall fight doesn't have much that you can draw from it except that Abraham is one tough dude. I mean, with all five points taken away (some really deserved), you can score that fight for Abraham. On a round by round basis Miranda won the fight easily yes, but what does that even mean? Yes he broke Abraham's jaw, but things like that are fluky. They are as much luck as they are power and skill. Abraham fought the rest of the fight like that. He had to fight scared because he was in so much pain, and even then while he was losing rounds it wasn't completely one sided. I just don't see what you can gather from that. Abraham couldn't fight as himself.
What bothers me about Abraham isn't so much him but his promoters and the IBF. Why don't they mandate some actual competition? Granted, the middleweights are kind of an overrated division in so much that it is top heavy. Everyone relevant pretty much has a belt so they won't mandate that. There is Winky Wright though, but no one wants that fight. I want Abraham/Sturm and then for the winner to be looking for big time names.
