IF he won, they wouldn't of exactly been convincing would they?

Perhaps Hopkins said he would dominate, I never said he did or would. However, we were talking about exposing flaws in Jermain Taylor, which he did. Win OR lose.

Hopkins was past his prime when he fought Taylor. That was evident in his fight against Eastmen, I think he only threw like 20 punches per round. In his first fight against Taylor Hopkins did crap for the first 6 rounds, which showed that he was aging and declining in skills. Watch his fight with Trinidad and Simon Brown, than compare it to his fights with Taylor, there is a BIG difference. He's just not sharp with punches anymore, nor does he throw enough.

I don't think there is any question that Hopkins is past his prime now, or even when he fought Taylor. But is what he has left enough to beat certain people, like Calzaghe, is the question.

Calzaghe was definitely intimated by Hopkins.

As for Hopkins getting his ass kicked, it will never happen, Hopkins can and will probably lose but he will not get his ass kicked.

When was the last time someone kicked Hopkins ass, yea he lost to Taylor twice and to Jones once but he didn't get his ass kicked.

Hopkins still has a chance to win right now but leave it for another 2 years and his skills would have probably deteriorated too much. I think in his prime, Hopkins would almost certainly beat Calzaghe on points but now it could go either way and I'd lean slightly towards Calzaghe for the points win.
