But, sonofsis, you cannot deny that there is a double standard (ie..Hopkins can make a racist statement without condemnation from the media and Calzaghe surely cannot). You don't deny that. You in fact think white people deserve it. That's a fairly racist thing in itself. I think playing the race card by either side is ignorant, inflamatory, and appeals to the basest nature of people on both sides of the spectrum.

In short...sonofsis, why call other people racist when you appear to be a racist yourself?

I told my father about it and he even said it was dumb. The point is that just because Hopkins makes one slick comment doesn't mean it should be open season on black people. Honestly, coming from Hopkins, it doesn't surprise me. He has proven to be a classless prick many a time before. I officially lost my respect for him as a person when he was demanding that the Ring magazine still let him keep his title after his loss to Jermain Taylor.

I for one am not all that shocked to hear this, and no he isn't just sayin it to sell the fight.. the man has a bit of hate in him.

Ive seen him up close and personal quite a bit and must say Hopkins is usually known as a prick in the boxing world... the guy often times punched Freddie like crazy when hitting the mitts, face, body, you name it... and NO not accidently...

i guess many years of boxing takes a toll on these fighters... in very different ways on each individual.
